Wendy Novak Diabetes Institute, part of Norton Children’s, has once again been recognized among the nation’s best – the No. 18 diabetes and endocrinology program in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals.
“This honor reflects the incredible work of our team,” said Russell Cox, president and CEO, Norton Healthcare, the not-for-profit parent organization of Norton Children’s. “We are dedicated to providing nationally ranked specialties, advanced research and outcomes that our patients and families deserve.”
“Being ranked by U.S. News & World Report is a testament to the extraordinary commitment of our entire clinical, education and research team,” said Kupper A. Wintergerst, M.D., pediatric endocrinologist, executive director of the Wendy Novak Diabetes Institute, and Wendy L. Novak Chair of Pediatric Diabetes Care and Clinical Research. “Their tireless dedication to caring for children and families made this recognition possible.”
U.S. News evaluated 118 children’s hospitals nationwide, analyzing clinical outcomes, adherence to best practices and the level and quality of hospital resources. Hospitals earning a “Best” designation demonstrated excellence in these key performance areas.
In addition to its ranking in diabetes and endocrinology, Norton Children’s earned national recognition in seven other specialties:
